The De La Salle University Green Archers took down the Adamson University Soaring Falcons in the last game of the first round of the eliminations of the UAAP Season 81 at Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay Ciy last October 10.
The San Marcelino squad ended up having a one point loss from the Green Archers, 78-79, after a dominant play by DLSU which went into overtime, the same fate that befell the Falcons when they played against FEU last October 7, 2018.
DLSU dominated the first half, with the Falcons slapped a technical foul at the start of the 3rd quarter.
Amidst the Archers’ dominance, the Falcons managed to gain scores inside the paint through sheer skills in offense and defense in the third and fourth quarters, but the Archers defended their run and put the game into overtime, now considered the second in UAAP Season 81 history.
Adamson is now solo second in the standings and hopes to improve its record in the second round.
The Adamson University Soaring Falcons will face the determined National University Bulldogs on Wednesday, October 17, at 4 p.m., at the Mall of Asia Arena. Mervin Vince C. Lopez
