The Adamson University (AdU) Soaring Falcons stayed on top after defeating the University of the East (UE) Red Warriors in the University Athletics Association of the Philippines (UAAP) Season 81 held at the Mall of Asia Arena last September 19.

The San Marcelino Squad proved again that the Soaring Falcons never falter as they finished the game against UE with a 14-point lead, making them the top seed so far in the ongoing tournament, with a 2-0 record. Students of Adamson University rejoiced to see their school win for the second time in a row after that first win over Ateneo.

Scoring 27 points, Sean Manganti said that in the first half, he couldn’t shoot well due to UE’s tight defense and his early fouls; but one game highlight was his dunk. "I was so excited because that was my first dunk since Season 79 because [during] Season 80 I was with injuries the whole season so I was excited for that one. I tried to give something to the crowd," he said.

Coach Franz Pumaren also emphasized that the win against the Red Warriors is not a testament of strength, but rather makes the Soaring Falcons the lead target of the other schools to take down. “They’re accepting their respective roles as leaders. I mentioned to them that the young guys will follow them if they play well.” head coach Franz Pumaren added.
