Battle of the birds in UAAP Season 81

The Adamson University Soaring Falcons took down the defending champions Ateneo Blue Eagles a day after the University Athletics Association of the Philippines (UAAP) Season 81 opened at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay on September 8, 2018. It was a thrilling and incredible finish for the San Marcelino-based squad who had the full backing of the Adamson University community.
Administrators, alumni, students, and even the teaching and non-neaching personnel of the university were amazed at the run that was made by the Falcons throughout the game. Among the attendees were University President Fr. Marcelo V. Manimtim, CM. and the director of the Office for Athletics and Recreation, Fr. Aldrin R. Suan, CM.
“We needed this win to prove that we don't fall before Ateneo, kasi before, we are in a type of worry when we play against Ateneo. Today, we have proven that we can overcome and we will do it again and again,” said a happy Fr. Manimtim.
“Thank the players and also especially the coaching staff for the incredible run of our team,” coach Franz Pumaren stressed during the press conference held after the game.
The Adamson University Soaring Falcons will fight against the De La Salle University Green Archers on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at the Araneta Coliseum at 4:00 in the afternoon. Mervin Vince C. Lopez
