Adamson welcomes ASEACCU delegates

Adamson University welcomed delegates from member-institutions of The Association of Southeast and East Asian Catholic Colleges and Universities (ASEACCU) at the OZ-AVR last August 10, 2018. The delegation was composed of participants of the first ASEACCU Leadership Training Program for Administrators and Academic Officials hosted by the University of Santo Tomas on August 6-10, 2018. The participants were new academic administrators working in universities in the Southeast and East Asian region, such as Indonesia, Thailand, and the Philippines and the institutional visit was part of the culmination of their training program. Earlier, they visited De La Salle University.

The visitors were shown an AVP about Adamson University. Fr. Marcelo V. Manimtim, CM, president, welcomed them and thanked UST, the host, for including Adamson in their itinerary. They were also given tokens of appreciation and later a walk-through of the exhibit of engineering students’ projects in the same venue.

Hartini, dean, Faculty of Pharmacy, Sanata Dharma University, Indonesia; Ms. Suganya Rujiprapharkul, head, Human Resource Department, Saint Louis College, Thailand; Ms. Tichaporn Sookkua, lecturer, Saint Louis College, Thailand; Fr. Francis Efren C. Zabala, OMI, president, Notre Dame University, Cotabato City, Philippines; Dr. Hartono Pranjoto, head of Biology Program, Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia; Dr. Watamesa A. Tan, head of Research Institute, Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia; Ms. Ni Putu Wulan Purnama Sari, Vice dean, Faculty of Nursing, Widya Mandaka Catholic University Surabaya, Indonesia; Fr. Pederito A. Delegates from the host school, UST, were Assoc. Prof. Giovanna V. Fontanilla, director, Office of Public Affairs; Asst. Prof. Ma. Cecilia A. Tio Cuison, dean, College of Tourism and Hospitality Management (CTHM); Prof. Regalado Trota Jose, Office of Public Affairs; Ms. Michaella O. Lagniton, Office of Public Affairs; Mr. Kenneth Roger T. Garcia, Office of Public Affairs; a CTHM representative; and an official photographer.

Also present were Adamson University’s Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Catherine Q. Castaneda, the deans of the different colleges, department chairpersons and some office directors.

The purpose of ASEACCU is to promote Catholic higher education and to be a support for the local churches. It also aims to contribute to educational dialog on an international level beyond the Southeast and East Asian region.
