Fifteen mechanical engineering students from Adamson University who enrolled in Adamson’s dual-degree program with Minghsin University of Science and Technology (MUST) in Taiwan graduated last June 16, 2018 at MUST. The Tassel Ceremony was held in the morning at the Mechanical Engineering Building in which the dean of the Mechanical Engineering department transferred the cap tassel of each individual graduate from right to left. The Graduation Ceremony was held in the afternoon at the C.K.S Hall. Although it is their practice that only the batch representative of the graduating group attends the ceremony, the Adamsonian students were given a special treatment: all of them, with their 38 relatives, were allowed to attend.

Fr. Marcelo V. Manimtim, CM, was one of the officials who gave a congratulatory message to the students. Engr. Arnaldo Valino, ME department chair, delivered an inspirational message Mac Christian M. Manuel, class president, gave the graduation speech. After the ceremony, all graduates of the University had a parade around the campus.

The students who graduated and earned the degree of BSME Major in Mechatronics are:

The dual-degree program is a special agreement between AdU and MUST wherein mechanical engineering students take up three years of their degree in Adamson, move to MUST for two years of ME study with Mechatronics as major, and return to Adamson to finish their ME degree. Those who undergo this program earn a diploma from MUST and another from AdU.

The AdU administrators who came to MUST to witness the event included Fr. Manimtim; Sr. Maruja Padre Juan, MSCS – director of the Office for University Relations; Engr. Evelyn Raguindin – dean of the College of Engineering; Dr. Luisito Lacatan – chairperson of the Computer Engineering Department; Arch. Peter Villanueva – dean of the College of Architecture; and Engr. Arnaldo Valino – chairperson of the Mechanical Engineering Department.
