Adamson University, through the Adamson University Alumni Association, Incorporated (AUAAI), the Office for Institutional Advancement (OIA), the Office for Student Affairs (OSA), and Adamson University Student Government (AUSG), held its semestral Sendoff and Welcome Party for the March 2018 graduates last April 24, 2018 at the SV front grounds.
This tradition is both a formal farewell to them in appreciation of their hard work and a demonstration of good wishes as they pursue their respective career paths. With a bohemian theme, the gathering gave special recognition to the graduates who brought pride and honor to the university while they were still students. The sendoff was also a moment to welcome the graduates as new members of the alumni association. Thus during the event, the alumni batch officers were inducted by the AUAAI president Engr. Hubert Temprosa, who also administered the Pledge of Commitment to the graduates.
Present during the event were top administrators, college deans, department chairpersons, office directors, alumni board of directors and officers and guests. In her inspirational message, Dr. Catherin Castañeda, VP for Academic Affairs and Acting President, gave the graduates helpful tips in job hunting and application even as she wished them success in their future endeavors.
Two stunning seniors were awarded as Stars of the Night – Simon Camacho (BS Information Technology) and Amykayas Myesgin (BS Pharmacy). Camacho is a student-athlete who earned praises for performing well in sports (basketball) and academics. Myesgin is an international student.
The program concluded with a ceremonial toast led by Mr. Ruel de la Rosa, AUAAI Vice President – Internal and with a fireworks display. The AdU Acoustic Band provided the music.
The sendoff and welcome party started in 2009 and has been held twice a year to recognize both the October and March graduates. This semester’s commencement exercises will be held at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) in Pasay City on May 4, 2018.
