Adamson University continues to explore partnership possibilities with other schools.

Representatives of Adamson University and Chung Hua University in Taiwan recently held a workshop-seminar at the Ozanam Audio-Visual Room last April 16-17, 2018 to discuss a partnership arrangement. On the agenda were the stipulations of a Memorandum of Understanding and the setting of priorities for collaborative work for a possible dual degree program in Architecture and in Computer Engineering.

Among the attendees from Chung Hua University were University Vice President Hung-Nien Hsieh, College of Architecture and Design dean Che-Wav Chang, College of Computer Science and Informatics dean Cheng-Chang Lien, and Office of Extension Education dean Wen-Chin Chen. The delegation also included Louis Tan and Ann Cristy Tan, director and secretary, respectively, from Chung Hua University’s Philippine Office - International and Cross-Strait Affairs.

For Adamson, the attendees included Vice President for Financial Affairs and Fr. Rafael K. Eloriaga, CM, College of Engineering dean Engr. Evelyn Q. Raguindin, College of Architecture dean Arch. Peter A. Villanueva, Office for University Relations director Sr. Maruja S. Padre Juan, MSCS, and Computer Engineering chairperson Dr. Luisito L. Lacatan.

Vice President for Student Affairs Fr. Andrew S. Bayal, CM, Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Catherine Q. Castañeda, and Vice President for Administrative Affairs Dr. Venusmar C. Quevedo also took part in the workshop.

Adamson University has an existing Memorandum of Agreement with Mighsin University of Science and Technology (MUST) in Taiwan for a dual degree program in Mechanical Engineering major in Mechatronics. Discussions for AdU’s partnership with MUST started in 2012. In 2014, two faculty members were sent to MUST for their MS degree in Mechatronics. Last 2016, the first batch of students numbering 15 left for Taiwan to pursue their dual degree in Mechanical Engineering.

It is hoped that the discussions with Chung Hua University will also bear fruit in the next few years.
