The Adamson University (AdU) community once again stepped into their best running shoes to join the annual marathon dubbed Falcon Run in reference to the school’s official mascot, the Soaring Falcon.
Falcon Run 8 was part of the 86th Foundation Anniversary activities and held at the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) complex along Roxas Boulevard last February 17, 2018.
Administrators, faculty, staff, students and alumni trooped early to the CCP complex to take part in an activity intended not only to promote health and wellness but also to raise funds to support scholars through purchase of tickets.
As a pre-run warm-up, a Zumba instructor led everyone in doing an exercise. To add more excitement to the event, the AdU Pep Squad, reigning champs of the UAAP Season 80 Cheerdance Competition, performed awe-inspiring routines. The Adamson Drummers and Yellers Online (AUDYO) hyped up the big crowd with the noise of their drums.
Shortly after, University President Fr. Marcelo V. Manimtim, CM did the gun start at around 6:00 AM, sending the participants running in the designated route.
“First time ko to actually join pero napaka saya ko at ang sarap sa feeling na may makilala kang mga bagong kaibigan at syempre maganda din siya para sa kalusugan,” said Dariecyl Dionisio, a Grade 11-ABM student.
Since the fun run was also a competition, awardees were given medals and certificates. And the winners were:
