Adamson University gave recognition to its alumni who have exceptional achievements and significant contributions not only to the country but also to the world at the Sofitel Philippine Plaza in Pasay City last February 17, 2018. The event was the Gala Night, part of the weeklong 4th Global Alumni Reunion that started on February 12 and ended on February 18, 2018, which in turn was part of the Adamson University’s 86th Founding Anniversary.

The Office for Institutional Advancement (OIA) and the Adamson University Alumni Association, Inc. (AUAAI) joined hands to make this big event a reality.

The International Alumni Achiever Award was given to alumni outside the country who have made exceptional contributions in their chosen field of endeavor. This year’s recipients are Mr. Jojo Dionaldo (BS Computer Engineering, 1994), Mr. Efren Mendoza (BS Computer Engineering), Mr. Nestor Tan (BS Industrial Engineering, 1982), and Mr. Jonathan Maravilla (BS Computer Engineering, 1995).

The International Service Award was given to alumni who had helped organize the different alumni organizations and chapters abroad. This year’s roster of awardees includes Mr. Generoso Salle (BS Industrial Engineering, 1974), Ms. Joan Tabinas (BS Architecture, 1996), Mr. Romulo Luz (BS Civil Engineering, 1979), Ms. Lourdes Borja (BS Commerce, 1983), Mr. Ricardo Borja (BS Mechanical Engineering, 1976), Ms. Melinda Reyes (BS Chemical Engineering, 1985), Mr. Miguel Pimentel (BS Accountancy, 1987), Mr. Luisito Bautista (BS Mechanical Engineering, 1977), Mr. Rogelio Cruz (BS Mechanical Engineering, 1978), Mr. John Llemos (BS Civil Engineering), Mr. Levi Tejada (BS Civil Engineering, 1978), and Mr. Danilo Chioco (BS Mechanical Engineering, 1977).

The Adamsonian Award, the highest award, is given to alumni who have made outstanding contributions not only to the university but also to the country and the world as a whole. It is usually conferred during special milestones of the university, like the Diamond Jubilee in 2007 and the 85th Founding Anniversary in 2017. Since the university was holding the 4th Global Alumni Reunion, it was deemed more fitting to honor the 85th anniversary awardees during the reunion.

The ten Adamsonian Award recipients are Mr. Cesar B. Chavez (AB Policitical Science, 1989), Atty. Dante R. Corminal (AB Political Science, 1999 and Bachelor of Laws, 2004), Mr. Macario L. Gaw, Jr. (BS Chemical Engineering, 1970), Mr. Anthony V. Gedang (BS Management, 1983), Mr. Lamberto L. Lee (BS Civil Engineering, 1979), Mr. Francis Miguel (BS Computer Engineering, 1992), Mr. Roberto Y. Uy (BS Mechanical Engineering), Ms. Lili Ann K. Zalameda (BS Industrial Engineering), Mr. Erlito R. Magsadia (BS Chemistry, 1963), and Mr. Edison B, Carlos (BS Civil Engineering, 1982).

The university expresses its congratulations to all awardees.
