AdU architect-mentor delivers a lecture in Indonesia

Assistant Professor Arch./EnP. Sylvester Seño, faculty at Adamson University and at the De La Salle-College of St. Benilde, was invited to the Public Lectures organized by the Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. He delivered a lecture on the topic Architecture and Nature: Going Back to Basics for the students and architects of UGM last August 10, 2017. 

The lecture was held in connection with the International Art and Design Workshop SUMMER COURSE: ARCH+ART: Architecture Learning through Contemporary Art In Yogyakarta. The event was hosted by the Architecture Study Programme,Department of Architecture and Planning, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Gadjah Mada. UGM is one of the leading architecture schools in Indonesia.

The other invited speakers also came from prestigious universities, namely, Prof. Dr. Nikhil Joshi from the National University of Singapore, Prof. Dr. Malik Abdul Rahman from the Universiti Sains Malaysia, and Assoc. Prof. Ayano Toki from the Tohoku University, Japan.

This was the second time that Arch. Seño was invited to speak abroad. Last March 2, 2017, he had a speaking engagement with the United Architects of the Philippines (UAP)-Singapore. Locally, he had been invited to speak for professional national conventions of the Philippine Institute of Architects (PIA) and UAP and for local UAP and UAPSA (UAP-Student Auxiliary) and ASAPHIL (Architectural Students' Association of the Philippines) chapters on various topics concerning architectural research, building technology, disaster risk management, sustainable adaptive building design (SABD) and community-based disaster risk assessment and planning.
