The Department of Chemistry prepares the students for a career in this discipline by providing sufficient theoretical as well as practical knowledge and training in its four principal branches; Inorganic, Organic, Analytical, and Physical Chemisty. The program also allows oportunities for elective freedom in the pursuit of interdisciplinary interests. Through its varied course offerings in the four core subjects, the Department provides a sound chemical background to students enrolled in the Engineering, Sciences and other allied programs that require the applicatin of the principles of this course.

Office Functions and Services

• Assists the Dean in developing new academic programs
• Reviews and checks the course syllabi and periodic examinations.
• Conducts and facilitates departmental examinations
• Prepares the teaching loads and schedules of faculty
• Prepares laboratory manual for General Chemistry and Organic Chemistry subjects
• Conducts pre-board review assistance to BS Chemistry graduates
• Provides study grants to socially disadvantaged students
