College of Pharmacy

The College of Pharmacy participates in the mission of the church to critically communicate human culture and promote the total formation of man. The College believes that it is responsible for preparing students to enter into pharmacy practice and to function as professionals and informed citizens in changing health care systems.

Adamson University College of Pharmacy inculcates to the student's values necessary to serve society as caring, ethical learning professionals, and enlighten citizens. It also provides student's with scientific fundamentals foster attitude necessary to adapt their careers to changes in health care over a lifetime.

Objectives

Adamson University College of Pharmacy offers the B.S. Pharmacy, which is a four-year degree program, designed to train students in the effective delivery of pharmaceutical services both in private and government placements, specifically. It provides the opportunity to gain knowledge and skill in the clinical, dispensing community, and administrative function of the profession.

Course Content

Adamson University College of Pharmacy maintains a dynamic, challenging and comprehensive curriculum which provides:

  1. General education in science and humanities.
  2. A foundation in the administrative, biological, biomedical, clinical, pharmaceutical, physical, and social sciences which are the basis for pharmaceutical care and underlying research.
  3. Experiences in developing communications, interpersonal, and problem solving skills.
  4. A foundation in social, ethical, legal, and economic issues involved in pharmacy and health care.
  5. Experience in practice management and provision for pharmaceutical care in community pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, and manufacturing pharmacy.

For those whose who can't take up the four-year program, a two-year course is offered that leads to a certificate in Pharmacy Technician.

  • Be a consultant of the different therapeutic agents
  • Be the continuing link between physician and patient

Be a counselor to the patient

  • Helps the patient understand the proper use of medication
  • Assists the patient's choice of non-prescription drug's or in the decision to consult a physician.
  • Advice the patient on matters of prescription storage and potency.

Be a guardian of public health

  • The pharmacy is the center for health care information.
