The Adamson Baby Falcons Chess Team made big leaps in the elimination rounds of the Palarong Maynila chess tournament. This year’s Palarong Maynila was held at the Manila Science High School last November 22 to 25, 2010.
Under the watchful eye of Coach Christopher Rodriguez, the team bagged four golds, two silvers, and three bronze medals. In the elementary boys’ division, Daryl Unix R. Samantila captured an individual gold medal, while he and teammate Charles Rodriguez won a silver medal in team matches. Timothy So Kua also earned an individual gold and partnered with Jusmel Fronda to win the gold in the high school boys’ team division. Crissa Canada and Jean Karen Enriquez earned a bronze in the girls’ division, with the latter also winning and individual bronze medal.
With their medal haul, the Baby Falcons earned the right to represent Manila in the upcoming NCR meet scheduled early next year.
