YMCA Manila honors Economics professor with service award

Date Posted: Aug 13, 2012 at 05:15:44 PM

Atty. Julius A. Babista, an assistant professor of economics in the Social Science Department, was given the Service Award by the Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA) Manila last July 14, 2012 in a ceremony held at Victorino Mapa High School at San Miguel, Manila. Hon. Tingaraan Guiling, an RTC presiding judge in Pasay and president of the association, handed the award.

The award was in recognition of Atty. Babista's legal and professorial services to the association especially in the College Work Committee. He has served the YMCA as a member of this committee and in various capacities as speaker/lecturer in the Annual Conference of Student Leaders and Club Moderators.

Atty. Babista worked as director of the Office for Student Affairs for five years. He has a master’s degree in economics from De La Salle University and is currently pursuing his PhD in Management in the same university.
