Guidance Department launches Parents’ Education Program for Academic Year 2012-2013

Date Posted: Jul 31, 2012 at 10:46:57 AM

The Guidance department recently launched the Parents’ Education Program to the parents of incoming freshmen during the parents’ orientation program last June 30 and July 7. The orientation was organized by the Office of Student Affairs and the designed formation program was specifically for parents. The objective of Parents’ Education Program is to give assistance through proper information about the different issues affecting their relationship with their sons and/or daughters who are studying in Adamson. The department believes that through these efforts, students will gain strong support from their family members and relatives which can eventually lead to their academic success.

The program consists of four topics, which will be conducted in four Saturdays from August to September. The first topic, Guiding Career Choices, will be conducted on August 18. The next two topics, Managing Family Conflicts and Dealing with Cyber Addiction will be conducted on September 15 and 29, respectively. The fourth topic, Understanding Psychosocial Development of Adolescence, will be conducted on October 13. The seminars will be conducted free of charge at the Adamson University Guidance Testing Room located at the ground floor of ST Building.

Parents who are interested in the program can view the invitation posted in their child’s E-Learning account. For details and further inquiries, parents can contact Mr. Richmond S. Yap, RGC at (02) 524-2011 local 415. Parents can also send their intention to attend by texting to the Guidance mobile number (0922) 807-7050.
