Five Russian teachers recently completed the 30-hour Special English Program with Teaching Methodology at Adamson University’s Center for Language Learning (CLL). The course was conducted from June 11 to 22 by Prof. Marie Nica Enopia, faculty member of the Foreign Languages Department, with a class observation of one of Prof. Enopia’s college classes.
The participants were Natalia Orel, a teacher at the Grammar School N133 in Vladivostok; Olga Ronskaia, a teacher at the Grammar School N29 also in Vladivostok; Anna Zakharova, a private English tutor in Vladivostok as well; Elvira Kitabalieva, and Ekaterina Sluzhaeva, both teaching at the Polyglot School of Foreign Languages in Ussuriisk, a few kilometers away from Vladivostok.
In simple ceremonies held at the President’s Office Conference Room, University President Fr. Gregg L. Bañaga, Jr., C.M. awarded them their certificates of completion with the assistance of Sr. Maruja Padre Juan, MSCS, director of the Office for University Relations, and Ms. Nilda Ibañez, Assistant Registrar. Also present to witness the affair were Ms. Liza Chang, OIC of the Center for Language Learning, and Mr. Raul Agner, director of the Institutional Development and External Affairs Office.
Ms. Chang says that 40 more Russian teachers will arrive soon to undergo the same training. RDA
