The torch of ‘service above self’ of the Rotary International (RI) was recently passed on to an Adamsonian, Alexander Cureg, by RI District 3780 outgoing governor Danilo Fausto last July 5, 2008 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. Cureg, a graduate of BS Civil Engineering, was one of the 75 Outstanding Adamsonians of 2007, and one of Ten Most Outstanding Alumni in 2005. He is a successful contractor-entrepreneur with expertise in design-and-build contracts and high-rise developments.
Heedful of the RI’s 2008-2009 theme “Make Dreams Real,” Gov. Cureg will focus on ‘projects involving environment and water management, health, hunger, and literacy especially of children that will make a difference in their lives by reducing child mortality which are the Rotary International’s thrusts for 2008-2009.’
Cureg joined RI in 1997 and has been since an active member of this recognized global organization. DG Alex has been distinguishing himself in various club humanitarian service activities particularly in children’s health and education. His district is composed of 92 Rotary Clubs with a total of 2,200 members based in Quezon City.
