Adamson University’s Mathematics Department sent four representatives to the National MathMax 2008, held at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines last July 26, 2008.
About 136 math wizards from various schools competed against each other. The University’s bets performed well, with John Lester Morillo, ChE, making it to the finals and Joselito Torcullas, ECE, reaping 2nd place.
Edmar Tolosa, BS Mathematics, and Kenneth Pandacan, ECE, also represented the University in the said competition. Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM) and Technological Institute of the Philippines-Manila (TIP) clinched the 1st and 3rd places, respectively.
Completing the top 12 were competitors from Bulacan State University, De La Salle University- Manila, Ateneo de Manila University, and PUP- Sta. Mesa.
