Eight AdU JPIAns Join ASSET 2008

Fifty top accountancy students from different universities and colleges of the country gathered for a 3-day seminar titled Accountancy Students’ Seminar and Extra-curricular Training (ASSET) 2008 last Sept. 12-14 at the PHINMA Training Center, Tagaytay City. Eight Adamsonians represented the University in this prestigious assembly, namely: Joanna Faye Abayon, Millicent Ang, Sheilla Cabaltica, Katrina Co, Aaron Paul dela Serna, Jacquelyn Laiz, Ida Ocampo, and Janssen Telles.



Unilever Philippines, Chartered Financial Analyst-Philippines, IIA Philippines-Institute of Internal Auditors, Accenture, Punongbayan and Araullo, SGV & Co., Isla Lipana & Co., Chinabank, PRTC (Professional Review and Training Center Inc.), CPAR (CPA Review School of the Philippines), Campus 99.5, Nestlè Philippines, and Toyota were among the sponsors of the seminar. They gave overwhelming support and provided resource speakers to enlighten the delegates on issues about the accountancy profession.



The event featured forums conducted by experts from the industry, case analyses, mock-board, quiz bee, and teambuilding activities which enhanced the leadership, communication skills, and the ability to build good working relationships among the participants.



AdU-JPIA’s Sheila Cabaltica exhibited a great performance by reaping the 9th spot of the mock-board.



ASSET is an annual gathering organized by the University of the Philippines-Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (UP-JPIA). Other participating schools were University of Santo Tomas, Chiang Kai Shek College, University of Saint Louis, Philippine School of Business Administration–Quezon City, University of the Philippines-Diliman, San Beda College–Mendiola, University of Eastern Visayas, Dr. Filemon C.
