Falcons in Early Win

Date Posted: Jan 2, 2009 at 06:53:23 AM

The Adamson Falcons made a triumphant start for this year as the Softball and Baseball Teams bagged their first win during their separate first games last January 10 & 11, both against the De La Salle Green Archers.

After the first set of games, the Softball Team also managed to defeat the UST Tigresses with a final score of 4-1 during their January 14 game, while the Baseball Team fought against the Ateneo Blue Eagles and once more emerged victorious, 16-5, last January 15, 2009.

With the smart coaching of Ana Santiago, the Softbelles—who were last year’s 1st runner up to UP Fighting Maroons—finished their opening face-off in opposition to the Lady Archers with a 15-0 final score. On the other hand, the defending champions, Baseball Team under Coach Orlando Binarao, overpowered the DLSU Baseball players in their 1st match-up with a score of 18-10. Hosted by the home of the Bulldogs, National University, the said UAAP events formally opened this season’s tournament last January 11, 2009 at the Rizal Memorial Stadium and are scheduled to end sometime in February.

“The Softbelles, I believe are more motivated to seize the championship this season, because it will absolutely be another enormous accomplishment for them. As for the Baseball Team, they are very much driven this season as well. They’ve got strong will to gain yet another colossal achievement for the University as they did last year.” remarked the Athletics Office OIC, Ms. Ma. Luisa G. Isip.

Schedule for the next game of our Baseball Team will be on January 18, 2009 against the NU Bulldogs at the Rizal Memorial Stadium and for the Softball Team on January 17, 2009 where they will compete against ADMU at UST Open Field. Rona Katrina C. Suelan
