A day of spikes, strategy, and stroke of luck earned Angela “The Principal” Benting and Tatan “Rockette” Gata a title in the Inter-Collegiate Beach Volleyball Challenge at the Cantada Sports Center in Taguig recently. The Lady Falcons had University of the East’s (UE) Ghie Alanguila and Abie Escandor’s hearts throb in a game ending at 21-7, 22-20.
Teams from Ateneo de Manila (Sharah So and Khryzette Onishi), College of Saint Benilde (Stephanie Liu and Zher Velez/Kerilyn Mulingtapang and Kat Kwan) and UE-2 (Dawn Dizon and Aan Soriano) fought hard but failed to get the crown. Their lady spikers all challenged Gata and Benting en route to the finals.
Benting, 19, and Gata, 20, are both business administration students of Adamson University.
