Five Electrical Engineering students of Adamson University were crowned as champion math wizards as they won the Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers (IIEE)-NCR 9th Regional Math Wizard contest held last September 25, 2009 at the Technological Institute of the Philippines-Quezon City campus.
Kenneth Zinampan, Jan Victor Cullano, John Arvee Amper, Gerardo Villanueva, and Jordan Rulloda bested contestants from twelve other engineering institutions for the win. Faculty member Engr. Dave Alviz coached the boys to their victory.
Contestants from Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Manila came in second while TIP-Manila students placed third. Other schools that joined the regional challenge were Mapúa Institute of Technology, EARIST, Polytechnic University of the Philippines, Technological University of the Philippines, Rizal Technological University, New Era University, and University of Rizal System-Morong.
