A one-day special engagement featuring the hit play on the life of St. Vincent de Paul saw alumni and friends of Adamson University come together on November 21, 2009 for a noble cause.
The Office for Institutional Advancement (OIA) collaborated with the Cultural Affairs Office (CAO) for the SVP Zarswela: An Adamson Alumni Reunion with St. Vincent de Paul held at the Adamson University Theater. The re-staging of the play San Vicente: A Zarswela was aimed at raising funds for Adamson’s scholarships and faculty development programs. By tapping the alumni who have not yet seen the play along with industry and other partners, an afternoon of entertainment and charity was carefully yet effectively mixed. The play was created by the Philippine Stagers Foundation (PSF) and was written and directed by Atty. Vincent Tañada, founder of the PSF and the man behind the hit musical “Ako Si Ninoy” and other critically acclaimed plays.
Tickets for this fundraising event were sold at Php1000, Php700, Php500 and Php400, which also treated guests to cocktails and a raffle draw. Various prizes from sponsors such as Astoria Plaza, Manila Ocean Park, Puregold, and Mang Inasal were given away. Other major sponsors were Acer Philippines, AUAAI-Qatar Chapter, Sanitary Care Products Asia, Boysen, Nissan UN Avenue, Citibank Savings, V.G. Roxas Company Inc., and Bostik Philippines, along with alumni and friends Engr. Mar Garcia, Mr. Macario Gaw, Atty. Carlos Dychangco, Dr. Lino Reynoso, and Engr. Rodrigo Alanano.
In all, old friends met again and spent the day watching a good show, catching up on each other’s lives, and giving back to Adamson just as Adamson has given to them.
