Adamson University's Architecture team took first runner-up honors at the first Federation of Architecture Schools Involved in Athletics (FASIA) Women's Volleyball Competition held at the Central Colleges of the Philippines (CCP) Gymnasium last September 26. Eight schools with architecture colleges participated, with University of Sto. Tomas winning the championship and Far Eastern University copping third place.
It was a good result for the “Arki” team, which was composed mostly of players new to competition. Team Captain Redge Yapoyco ably steered the team into the finals with regular practice sessions in the preceding months. In the team were Arki students Richelle Reyes, Ma. Joyce Concepcion, Jana Gonzales, Alyssa Alon-alon, Ma. Kristina Domingo, Diane Celorico, Adriel Muyot, Janina Ocampo, Jessica Culla, Miriam-May Udarbe, Krizel Mae Molina, and Aprille Sabandal. Their coach Arch. Roberto Duran was deeply satisfied with the outcome, considering the rawness of the team and the limited time to shape up.
The other schools that participated were Technological University of the Philippines, Technological Institute of the Philippines (TIP)-Manila, TIP-Quezon City, University of the East, and host school CCP.
