The 246th NROTC Command of Adamson University commemorated the feast day of St. Vincent de Paul with two of their traditional activities.
The annual wreath laying ceremony was done on the morning of September 27th at the Plaza de San Vicente. Present at the ceremony were University President Fr. Gregg Bañaga Jr., C.M., Office for Student Affairs director Atty. Julius Babista, and NROTC Commandant LCDR Stephen Tuballa PN. The Philippine Navy Band was also on hand for the entrance and exit of colors. Fr. Bañaga gave a short message during the ceremony, exhorting St. Vincent’s values and his legacy to the cadets and the audience.
The wreath laying ceremony was followed by another tradition—the presentation of cadet sponsors and review of the corps at the SV Quadrangle. The cadet sponsors were presented by their partners to officials from the University led by Fr. Bañaga and from the Philippine Navy led by LCDR Tuballa. After the sponsors were presented to the community through the parade, the parade review of command was then conducted.
These two activities served to be a fitting way to open the barrage of activities lined up for the Patron Saint’s feast day. The activities also served to stamp the NROTC’s prominence and presence in the Adamson community. Yael Esperat
