  DMCI Homes, builders of the Torre de Manila condominium, has proposed several measures in response to Adamson University’s demands for increased safety for its pedestrians following the incident at the Falcon Walkway on February 9, 2014. A one-ton solid steel vibro hammer used by DMCI for their construction fell into the Falcon Walkway grounds while being hoisted by a crane on February 9 at around 9:00 AM. Adamson University has 31 new professional educators as the result of the January 2014 licensure exam for teachers (LET) conducted by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) were released 32 days after the exam.   As it has done consistently in the previous exams, Adamson posted results that are well above the national passing rates. Graduates of Adamson University’s BS Mechanical Engineering program showed excellent results in the licensure exams for mechanical engineers given by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) last March. There were 25 passers out of 31 examinees from Adamson, giving the university a high overall passing rate of 80.65%. The first-time takers alone posted a passing rate of 86.96%.   When disaster strikes, expect the College of Nursing (CON) to act like firefighters in quick response to a fire call. Adamson University has successfully passed the first surveillance audit for its ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System certification last November 28, 2013. The softball team celebrates with Fr. Even Adamson University's international students are making a name for themselves in local sports. Johnny Leo, a BS Geology freshman, was recently given the Finals MVP award during the Head & Shoulders 7s League held by the Philippine Rugby Football Union (PRFU) at the Nomads Sports Club in Parañaque City last October 26. The opening of the beach volleyball and badminton competitions in UAAP Season 76 has been moved to a later date.   The beach volleyball competitions, which were supposed to kick off last Saturday, August 17, at the University of the East sand courts, will open instead on August 31 in the same venue.   The badminton season opener has also been moved to August 31 but the venue will be announced later.   UNIVERSITY of the Philippines Integrated School (UPIS) took its first win in UAAP Season 76 juniors basketball action but had to do it the long way.   The Junior Maroons needed four overtime periods to squeak past the Adamson University Baby Falcons, 89-87, on Sunday at the Mall of Asia Arena.
